Welcome to the SPACE Lab (Stuttering/Speech Production: Affective and Cognitive Effects)
We are dedicated to exploring the cognitive, emotional, and linguistic factors that influence speech production, and in particular, stuttering. Our goal is to uncover the causal factors behind stuttering, the contributors to its persistence, and to develop clinical interventions guided by the lived experiences of children who stutter.

At SPACE lab, many of our research activities are play-based, allowing our team to acquire valuable speech and language assessments in a natural and engaging way.

Our research involves using standardized speech and language tests to evaluate communication skills. Families who join our studies receive a free, comprehensive evaluation of their child's speech and language development.

Our team works hands on to tackle research questions in a systematic and diligent manner. This hands-on experience helps train future scientists and clinicians.
